
Eliz Alahverdian Liu, a first generation American of Armenian heritage, was born on Long Island, NY in 1979. Her parents emigrated from Eastern Europe to escape communism and moved to New York in the early 1970s. She was raised in a home merging old world traditions with American patriotism.
Eliz Alahverdian received her Masters in Art focusing on printmaking and painting, and Bachelors of Art studying painting and graphic design from Adelphi University. She remained there and trained as a curator under the guidance of her mentor, Richard Vaux. Since September 2006 she has also curated and co-curated numerous exhibits at various New York and Long Island galleries.
As an exhibiting artist, Eliz Alahverdian creates prints, paintings, and drawings that explore the essence of nature. She has exhibited both nationally and internationally at various galleries including Silvermine Guild Arts Center in New Canaan, CT; the Heckscher Museum in Huntington, NY; the Euro-Asian Arts Center in Vienna, Austria; the Albuquerque Airport in New Mexico; and the Encaustic Art Institute in Cerrillos, New Mexico.
